Orientation Days

We are excited to inform you of our Kindergarten Orientation dates as we prepare for our new students starting Kindergarten in 2012. We will be holding 5 orientation days that will allow our new students to become familiar with their new environment, as well as getting to know their teacher and the other students. The dates are:

• Term 3 Week 8 Thursday 8th September @ 9:00-10:30am
• Term 3 Week 10 Thursday 22nd September @ 9:00-10:30am
• Term 4 Week 3 Thursday 27th October @ 9:00-10:30am - Parent information session with Principal
• Term 4 Week 5 Thursday 10th November @ 9:00-10:30am
• Term 4 Week 8 Thursday 1st December @ 9:00-10:30am

This is an exciting time, but it also brings some apprehension for parents understandably. The first session will begin with free play and we would ask that you initially come in to ensure your child is settled and then leave your child to play. While this sounds difficult, it is often harder for parents and your child will settle very quickly once you have gone. Prolonging this separation can make it more difficult for you to leave later, as well as often making other children miss their parents.

While they are at Kindergarten orientation this is an excellent opportunity to go over to Knox Park, or out for a coffee and get to know other parents. I would ask that if you are waiting at school for the session to finish that you wait near the front of the school, rather than outside the room as this can be a distraction for the children.

Please note our kindergarten class is limited to twenty students so to ensure your child's placement you must apply with an enrolment application form.

Children attending these sessions should bring some cut up fresh fruit, a bottle of water and a hat.

Interstate and overseas visitors with prospective children are welcome. Please notify your visit with the School Secretary in order to make an appointment with the Principal.
